Rose and Frank PloverTuesday, January 31st

Words alone cannot express the loss our entire family is feeling at this difficult time. "Uncle Jimmy" meant so much to us and our children/grandchildren for many years and will be deeply missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Dave, Fran and his niece and nephew. We will all miss you dear friend.

Jim Powers was not only my godfather. He was my Uncle. He was at every family party, celebrations, graduation, concert, school play, wedding and so much more. He was the kindest man I ever met. I am so thankful for all the memories we made together while playing music! I love you Uncle Jim! AKA Uncle Jimmy Jam

I worked for many years at AAA with Jimmy. We were both products of an Oblate educational experience - he at North Catholic and I at Father Judge. When I think of Jimmy I remember the smile and I also remember his willingness to help with any work related problems. When I got the news on Tuesday that he had passed over the weekend I just cried. Although he retired from AAA in 2013 there were several times in the intervening years where we were together. The last time I saw Jimmy was last November. The Sunday before Thanksgiving after the 11 o’clock mass at St. Bede. I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned around and there was Jimmy Powers beaming that smile at me. We talked some and got caught up and went our separate ways. I looked every week at church but did not see him again. Jimmy was one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. He was a kind and gentle soul. And I know that last Saturday Heaven welcomed home a new Angel. Rest in Peace Jimmy.

So very sad to learn of Jim's passing. A dear friend who enjoyed the summers in Sea Isle and winter ski trips to the Poconos and Gore. Jim was a member of our bridal party who totally surprised us with a Mummer's performance at our wedding (11-20-92). We will certainly miss your smiling face and extend our heartfelt sympathy.

Although we only knew you for a short time, we were lucky enough to have known you. Rest in peace.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jim's family.
We knew Jim back in the day he and his buddies
rented my (Dale) mom and dad's little cottage on
46th St. in Sea Isle City. Haven't seen Jim in quite
a while but do see Terry and his family in Sea Isle
during the summer. Still have a pictures of Jim
coming out of the cottage and my two little daughters
playing in one of those little blue plastic kiddie pools
on the grass while my my dad played lifeguard. Great
memories. Jim was always a gentleman and all around
good guy!
